Dosierung: Hier werden viele Empfehlungen angeboten. Die RDA für Vitamin C liegt bei 100 mg pro Tag. RDA ist die „empfohlene Tagesdosis“ in Deutschland, gemäss der „europäischen Nährwertkennzeichnungsrichtlinie“.  Eine Tagesdosis (1000mg) deckt den Tagesbedarf eines Erwachsenen (entsprechend der Empfehlung nach Anlage 13 der Verordnung VO (EU) 1169/2011 (LMIV)) an Vitamin C mit 1250%.  Das Vitamin C ist L- Ascorbinsäure, die einzige bioaktive Form der Ascorbinsäuren. Orthomolekular-Ärzte erklären, dass Vitamin C nur in höheren Mengen vor Krankheiten schützt und empfehlen 8-10 Gramm über den Tag verteilt, insbesondere für Schwangere und Ältere sowie infektanfällige Menschen und solche, die unter chronischen Erkrankungen leiden. Linus Pauling empfiehlt 8-15 g/Tag. Ein Kaffeelöffel gestrichen voll entspricht ca. 4g. Gehäuft voll ca. 7g/Tag.
